Scooterotica Dyno Tuning & Diagnostics

Why choose Scooterotica Dyno Tuning & Diagnostics?
Given that Lambretta and Vespa scooters are based on a 40+ year old design.....trying to get them to go fast, or expecting them to cover thousands of miles to and from rallies can be a difficult experience. Even the most seasoned professional can't accurately examine the entire rev range under load and get the jetting 100% spot on.....and this is where dyno tuning comes in!
Our dyno is perfectly engineered to analyize the performance, BHP, torque and revs of your scooter. Combine this with the gas analyser unit and we can examine how your engine is performing and make sure you have the correct air/fuel ratio so to prevent either lean running and seizures, or rich running and lost performance.

Process:
When we book a customer in for a dyno tuning & diagnostic session, i try to have a chat with the customer on the phone first about what they are expecting, known problems with the scooter, what we can/cant do for them etc, so that there is at least a basic understanding of what will happen on the day.
Upon arrival, we have a brew and chat in a bit more detail, we also have a job sheet that we request the scooter owner to fills in, answering pre-filled fields: Engine spec, exhaust, timing, carb spec, jetting settings, gearbox type, known issue and problems that need resolving etc, so that we have as much info as possible to start with.
After this we will get the scoot warmed up set it up on the dyno with the gas analyser plugged in etc and do 1 test, 1 test actually consists of 3 runs. We usually do 1 run through gears 1st-3rd just to clear the engine, then do run 2 getting the throttle wide open as soon as i can in the rev range, and then run 3 feeding the throttle to roll on the power.
At this point we should have 3 graphs to choose from and analyse, if there were any glitches, or misreadings we would repeat until we get some meaningful data that we can interpret and relay to the customer. At this point, if any adjustments are needed, the customer can either request that we do the work there and then, and re-test on the dyno afterwards to check progress...... or they can take the info/graphs/BHP/Torque/Air/Fuel-analysis away and make their own adjustments accordingly....its the customers choice, so that they don't feel that their wallet is an open book.....their spend with us will be tailored to their needs and requirements.

Note: During a standard Dyno Tuning & Diagnostic session, we will measure BHP/TORQUE/RPM figures along with important Air/Fuel ratio information, and use this to fine tune your scooter. Due to time constraints, major mechanical faults and defects cannot be fixed during a dyno tuning and diagnostic session. Such items should be booked into the garage for mechanical work seperately.

Prices:
